The next day, Liberty was scheduled to take on John Overton High School. Players arrived on Overton's still wet, soupy field that lied above overlooking the school. Before playing, Liberty honoured GOD, Jehovah God- the GOD of Abraham Isaac and Jacob,in prayer. In the first half, Liberty scored their first goal by Jessica Viars off of a corner kick. Liberty fed off of Overton's frustration by scoring again in that same half( Elizabeth Boone). Liberty seemed to have improved very much from the last game. This improvement is sure to carry over to the next game which will be needed in Liberty one and only district game against Brighton Thursday. This game will determine the number one team in the district.

BottomLine:Liberty Lady Crusaders Vs. Westview

Today, the Liberty Lady Crusaders played Westview at in their opening game of the season. This game was puffed up by the Jackson Sun earlier last week in an article about the best girls' soccer games of the year.
At 5:00, the game was set to begin. Westview had driven nearly an hour to get to the Crusader Soccer field. At the opening tip, Westview started to make a run. In mere minuetes, Liberty was down 1-0. It was only later in that 1st half that Liberty was down 2-0. Although down, Liberty didn't give up completely. After 3 goals by Westview, Liberty's Jessica Viars scored and brought the game 3-1.
The second half started with Liberty down 3-1. This game can be characterized as "scrappy". With all of the foul play by the players. All in all, Liberty was not able to attack back at Westview. Westview's more aggressive play won them the win today, and the score , 5-1, showed just that. BottomLine.
