Tarius Johnson, better known as TJ, is a student- athlete at Liberty Technology Magnet High school. He has an evident passion and love for the game of basketball that shows ever time he steps out on the court. He was a member of the 06-07 State Championship team. Johnson's hard work the very next year gained him starting spot on the Liberty Tech Basketball team . He has earned notoriety in the Tennessee Basketball area because of his well-toiled guard skill and power, and mature attitude. He is one of the “good guys” on campus. Out side of school, you won't catch him partying; you won't catch him on myspace either. He shuns myspace and doesn't even talk about face book. You'll find him at Liberty Tech's practice leading his team or in a local gym perfecting his skills. He spends time out side of school and basketball holding down a summer job and being a role model to not only his fellow teammates and classmates but also to his younger brother. Johnson is a hard worker and can only get better.
On the first game, (Nov. 19, 2008) of the season Johnson scored 32 to help lift the Crudaders over Convington in a 75-53 win. Last week Johnson was named the MLK Classic MVP. This season is a change for Liberty and Johnson. This season he sports the number "4" instead of "34". His leadership role has increased along with his GPA and PPG. Johnson says his only goal is to ,"get back to state," and have a chance to win a championship. Johnson is a true teamplayer.
